2009 Governor's Service Awards Honors Volunteers!
Governor Jennifer M. Granholm and First Gentleman Daniel G. Mulhern recognized outstanding individuals, organizations, and businesses during the 2009 Governor's Service Awards, held Thursday, June 18. The Governor's Service Awards are given annually to individuals, businesses, and organizations to acknowledge their commitment to serving their communities through volunteerism.
2009 Michigan's AmeriCorps Russ Mawby Signature Service Project Impacted City of Flint
The Russ Mawby Signature Service Project is an annual event. Each year AmeriCorps members from all around Michigan join together for two days of training, teambuilding, and service.
Learn and Serve - Michigan Kicks Off New Blog on Youth Service!
Members of Learn and Serve - Michigan's Service Learning Youth Council (SLYC) have created a blog to document their service efforts in communities across the state. At least once a month a new entry is posted by a member of SLYC or someone engaged in service efforts. Posts typically cover service-learning experiences the youth have participated in. Please visit their blog and feel free to post a response!
