Solid Waste Compost And Inert Rules Work Group

Agency: Environmental Quality


The Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), Waste and Hazardous Materials Division (WHMD), has formed a work group of stakeholders to assist the DEQ in developing amendments to the administrative rules promulgated under Part 115, Solid Waste Management, of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act, 1994 PA 451, as amended (Part 115 Rules), which will then be made available for public comment. This effort will focus on the inert and composting standards and related provisions within Part 1, General Provisions, of the Part 115 Rules.

The Solid Waste Compost and Inert Rules Work Group is comprised of representatives from state and local government, the solid waste industry, and environmentalists.
