The Superfund section is divided into five units: Administration Unit, Site Evaluation Unit, Grant and Technical Support Unit, Specialized Sampling Unit and Geologic Support Unit. The relationship between the Superfund section organization and the different units is described in the following paragraphs.
Administration Unit
The Administration Unit provides supervision and management of all units in the Superfund Section.

Site Evaluation Unit
Site Evaluation Unit (SEU) is divided into two service groups, one consisting of Remedial Project Managers and the other consisting of Pre-Remedial Project Managers. SEU manages the federal Superfund program for the sites that are assigned to this unit, performs site assessment and scoring to nominate sites for the NPL, and performs brownfield site assessments.

Grant and Technical Support Unit
The Grant and Technical Support Unit (GTSU) manages the federal Superfund program for the sites that are assigned to this unit, manages the Federal Defense Sites cleanup, and is also responsible for the coordination of the application, tracking, and administration of all Superfund Cooperative Agreements (grants) and Superfund State Contracts between the EPA and the state. The work unit administers the Superfund Expenditure Tracking System and performs other grant tracking, expenditure tracking, and administrative functions for the Superfund Section.
