| Asbestos NESHAP Program

Implementation of the National Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) program for Asbestos has been delegated to AQD by United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA). Oversight of this program includes receiving and reviewing demolition/asbestos removal notifications. Moreover, this program is responsible for conducting inspections of asbestos removal projects and demolition projects to determine compliance with the NESHAP regulations.
